If you checked out my post “new Directions,” this is a happy follow-up.
I got a job in my new desired field! I’m going to be going into schools to counsel kids in an attempt to prevent substance abuse! How wonderful is that?!
I was so scared that this would not happen. Just ask my fiance, who I cried to for an hour last night about all my insecurities. It’s been overwhelming to not know how the future is going to come together. Just knowing what I’d like to do and knowing that my current job would run out in a couple of weeks was making me uncomfortably neurotic. After all, who wants to have no income, especially at a time like this. Financial insecurity is terrible, and it was getting to me big-time.
Alas, I will no longer have to worry about being forced to live in my car! What’s more is that I’ll be doing something I’m passionate about. A huge spiritual burden has been lifted. I feel that I am gravitating toward my greater life purpose.
So, from this place of joy, I urge you to pursue your passions, even when you’re so scared it feels unbearable. The world is a scary place, and it will undoubtedly let you down from time to time. But, it will also surprise you and give you unexpected gifts.
If you just keep moving forward, one step at a time, you can create a better life for yourself. That’s what I kept telling myself, and today it payed off.
I wish you all the joys and gifts the universe is holding for you! You deserve them, no matter who you are, what you’ve done or what you think you are worth. Dream big, keep inching forward, and life will reward you. I promise!
